IriaandRicardo

Ricardo and Iria attacking with their firearms.

Ricardo Soldato (リカルド・ソルダート Rikarudo Sorudaato) and Iria Animi (イリア・アニーミ Iria Aniimi) are both playable characters in ACS originating from Tales of Innocence.

Ricardo Soldato, a wise and experienced mercenary for hire, helped Ruca Milda and Iria Animi on their journey. His weapon, a rifle with a bayonet attached, is used for a variety of long-ranged attacks in conjunction with Ricardo's own list of Earth and Dark-typed spells. He can also shoot his spells as bullets instead of casting them.

On the other hand, Iria Animi, a girl who ran away from her village to escape a mysterious group, is equipped with a pistol in each hand and fights with a mix of mid-ranged attacks and a salvo of Water and Ice-typed spells. Most of Iria's attacks produces high number of hits.

Ricardo and Iria count as one character and only one can be controlled in battle, like the trio of Fog, Chat, and Race. Both of their stats are mostly average to above average with Ricardo having a higher damage output but lesser flexiblility than Iria.

This character is recommended for intermediate and veteran players.

Character Facts[]

  • The duo share a total of 590 HP.
    Double Iria

Two Iria's are present on the battle field.

  • Both of them have only one victory pose.
  • "Ricardo Soldato & Iria Animi" are one of the two playable characters in ACS who fight as a team.
  • Iria Animi has one of the highest High Jumps in the game.
  • Ricardo and Iria's Support Arte allows them to summon Ange Serena from Tales of Innocence.
  • Ricardo and Iria are the only characters in ACS that can use Assist Artes.
    • Pressing D while an Assist Arte is being executed allows two instances of the same character to be present in the battlefield.

General Tips & Usage[]

  • Each character has different parameters as enumerated below:
    • Ricardo has average jump height, movespeed, and an above average damage output.
    • Iria has an average damage output and dash length but an above average jump height and movespeed.
    • Ricardo has moderate delays before and after using some of his artes.
    • Both of them have an average defense against Guard Break.
  • Ricardo Soldato & Iria Animi have different elemental defense attributes.
    • Ricardo receives 20% & 40% more damage from Water & Light Elemental attacks respectively and 30% less damage from Earth Elemental Attacks.
    • Iria receives 20% more damage from Wind Elemental attacks and 30% less damage from Fire Elemental Attacks.
    • Refer to this page for more information on ACS Elements.
  • Movement skills differ for each character but both of them can perform the basic movements skills available to most ACS characters.
    • Iria and Ricardo's Forward Step has good range and speed. Their Backward Leap has lesser range than their Forward Step.
    • Ricardo's High Jump and Double Jump have the same height and reaches the top of the screen.
    • Iria's High Jump far exceeds the screen's height and is one of the highest in the game. Her Double Jump is the same with Ricardo's.
    • Ricardo and Iria's forward air dash are the same. But Iria has a better backward air dash than Ricardo.
  • Both Ricardo and Iria have different basic melee/ranged attacks as follows:
    • Ricardo has two basic ground ranged attacks (A & C) and one ground melee attack (B or.→ → A). He also has one basic aerial ranged attack (A or B).
      • Ricardo's C ranged attack is an anti-air attack.
      • Ricardo's B melee attack makes him backstep after using it.
      • Using Ricardo's ranged aerial attack makes him float for a very short period of time.
    • Iria has three basic ground ranged attacks (A, B, C). She also has one basic aerial ranged attack (A or B).
      • Iria's C ranged attack is an anti-air attack.
      • Iria's basic ranged attacks have two hits.
      • Using Iria's ranged aerial attack makes her float for a very short period of time.
      • If A or B is pressed during Iria's Forward Step or Backward Leap, She will immediately switch with Ricardo to perform his aerial ranged attack.
    • Both character's Melee/Ranged attacks cannot be comboed to one another.
    • If you hold down one of the attack buttons, the character on the screen will repeatedly use that Melee/Ranged attack.
  • Iria has a unique Backdash; during the first 3 frames of her Backdash, if an attack connects with her, she will disappear and dash forward, usually behind the enemy if a physical attack is dodged. This is a valuable but difficult to master defensive option.
  • Normally at the start of the battle, Ricardo will be the default chararacter on the field. However, holding ↑ before the battle has started will make Iria appear instead.
  • Pressing D would allow you to manually switch control between Iria and Ricardo as the main character. The unused character will be considered as the assisting character.
  • Iria can be viewed as the "fast" or "technical" character, who focuses on how much hits can be pulled off before ending a combo, while Ricardo can be seen favoring power over hits.
  • Unique to Ricardo Soldato and Iria Animi alone, they can use their artes normally like most ACS characters do or as an Assist Arte.
    • Assist Artes are either Ricardo's or Iria's normal artes that are used during a combo when the assisting character is not mainly controlled by the player. (e.g. Using an Iria Arte while Ricardo is mainly controlled by the player and is using one of his artes against an enemy).
    • Using Assist Artes would summon the assisting character to attack seperately, similar to how Cameo Support Artes work.
    • An Assist Arte costs a small amount of Overlimit Gauge to use.
    • You can only use Assist Artes once for every combo. You will have to wait until the combo counter resets before another can be used again. Also, you cannot immediately use an Assist Arte after a combo ends since it has a hidden cooldown of roughly around five (5) seconds.
    • When an assisting character is out on the field, any arte belonging to that character cannot be used as a normal arte until they disappear.
      • Players can still switch from Ricardo to Iria or vice versa by pressing D even if an Assist Arte is being executed. If this is done, you can use Artes normally belonging to the assisting character (which is now the main character) regardless if they are performing an Assist Arte or not.
    • Not all artes can be used as an Assist Arte. A table enumerating all the usable Assist Artes can be found here.
  • Both Ricardo and Iria have the same chain order as follows:
    • Melee/Ranged > Any non-Mystic or Assist X3 > Mystic
      • Most, though not all, artes cannot be used twice in a row during a combo (except in midair).
      • Within the chain order, you can only use artes belonging to the main character with the exception of Mystic Artes.
      • Within the chain order, if an arte not belonging to the main character is used, it will be executed by the assisting character as an Assist Arte.
        • Using artes as an Assist is only possible during a combo.
        • Assists cannot be used more than once per combo.
        • Not all artes can be used as an Assist.
      • Outside the chain order, using an arte belonging to the assisting character would make you switch with the main character to perform the arte.

Ricardo: Snipe Gate Combo[]

  • Ranged Attack A > Snipe Gate > Ranged Attack A [Note 1] > Ranged Attack A > Snipe Gate (x3) > Overlimit > Gouhasou > Snipe Gate (x2) [Note 2] > Endless Tragedy.
    • 98 Hits, 417 damage
    • Quick Input Version:
      • A > ↓ ← → D > [Note 1] A > A > ↓ ← → D (x3) > F > ↓ A > [Note 2] ↓ ← → D (x2) > ↓ ← → .
    • Requirements: Wall, 1 Overlimit and 175 TP (however the number of hits during Snipe Gate reduces this).
    • Note 1: Wait until Ricardo goes back into his idle stance before attacking, otherwise he may cast Stone Blast instead. This combo can also be performed starting from long range by replacing this step with a forward dash to close into melee range.
    • Note 2: You need to have good timing because Snipe Gate may miss. If you want, you can substitute one Snipe Gate for Stone Blast to make this easier.

Ricardo: Mid Ranged Combo[]

  • Ranged Attack A > Snipe Gate [Note 1] > Forward Leap [Note 2] > Ranged Attack A > Brutal Hunt > Raging Hunt > Iria Assist: Assault Bullet [Note 3] > Ranged Attack A > Raging Hunt > Brutal Hunt > Raging Hunt or ( Shot Grave > Iria Animi: Ruined Vain Wish [Note 4] )
  • Quick Input Version:
  • A > ↓ ← → D > ↓ → ↑ > A > ↓ → D > ↓ → E > ↓ ← C > A > ↓ → E > ↓ → D > ↓ → E or ( ↓ ← → B > ↓ → ← E )
  • Damage is about 45%-60% of Kakashi Scarecrow's HP (500).
    • Requirements & Notes:
      • TP for some artes.
      • Ricardo must be the main character at the start of the combo.
      • Note 1: Use Snipe Gate as soon as Ranged Attack A hits the enemy.
      • Note 2: On the 9th hit of Snipe Gate, you can move and perform the Forward Leap.
      • Note 3: To execute Iria's Assist easier, spam the command for Iria Assist: Assault Bullet on the 4th hit of Raging Hunt onwards. Using it too early would disallow you to continue the combo.
      • Note 4: Use this arte as soon as possible to inflict Air-tech Disable and hit the enemy.
  • My bread and butter combo for this character.
  • Flexible and easy to use with some practice. This combo also has low requirements.

    • Notes:
      • Note 1: Use Snipe Gate as soon as Dark Laser hits the enemy.
      • Note 2: On the 9th hit of Snipe Gate, you can move and perform the Forward Leap.
      • Note 3: Unleash Overlimit Lv1 as soon as possible to inflict Air-tech Disable. Spam the F button if you have to.
      • Note 4: The timing here is a little difficult. Press A just as the enemy reaches the same height level of the combo counter.
      • Note 5: To execute Iria's Assist easier, spam the command for Iria Assist: Assault Bullet on the 9th hit of Snipe Gate.
      • Note 6: Input the command for Elemental Master as soon as possible. The timing is on or near the 5th hit of Brutal Hunt.
      • Note 7: Input the command for Ange Serena: Houyoku Shitenshou as soon as possible. Spamming the command is highly advised.
  • An upgraded version of Ricardo's Mid Range Combo.
  • Not that practical but shows you a lot about Ricardo's combo potential. At the start, replace Dark Laser with Ranged Attack A to make it more practical.

  • Damage is about 40%-55% of Kakashi Scarecrow's HP (500).
    • Requirements & Notes:

    • Iria must be the main character at the start of the combo.
    • Note 1: You can add a forward or backward air-dash on this part depending on the situation.
    • Note 2: Use Twin Bullet in mid-air but near the ground and make sure that the enemy is hit even if he/she doesn't jump.

      • Note 8: Use Twin Bullet in mid-air but near the ground and make sure that the enemy is hit even if he/she doesn't jump.
      • Note 9: Wait for the enemy to touch the ground before using Freeze Lancer. If the enemy is hit whilst in mid-air, Iria will be greatly pushed back, preventing you from extending the combo further.
  • This is the highest combo for this character.
