LionMajinRengokusatsu

Lion using Majin Rengokusatsu.

Lion Magnus (リオン・マグナス Rion Magunasu), known locally as Leon Magnus, is the second of five released Tales of Destiny characters. Lion is forced to betray Stan Aileron and sides with Hugo Gilchrist's evil plans in order to save the life of Marian, a maid who is very important to him.

Lion dual wields a dagger and the Swordian of Earth, Chaltier, and is known by many to be a prodigy with a blade. Lion's fighting style is a combination of swift attacks and Earth or Dark-elemental spells. Lion has a large arsenal of ground-based and aerial attacks, making him very flexible in the battlefield. Having almost average to above average stats, his main weakness however is his low HP.

Lion is not difficult to use and is recommended for beginner and veteran players.

Character Facts[]

  • Lion Moon

    Lion using Gessenkou in mid-air.

    Lion has 420 HP.
  • He has three victory poses.
  • Most of Lion's attacks are capable of being used in the air (this excludes his Spells and Blast Calibers).
  • If Lion battles against Stan Aileron or Hugo Gilchrist, He will offer up a short dialogue.
  • Lion is one of the few ACS characters that can use Overlimit in mid-air during a combo.
  • Lion seems to be one of the few playable characters that are able to chain Blast Calibers.
  • Most of Lion's artes are based on dragons, and the moon (added as a synonym to the word "shining").

General Tips & Usage[]

  • Lion has above average movespeed, jump height, dash length and damage output but has below average HP.
  • Lion has below average to average defense against Guard Break.
  • Lion receives 40% more damage from Wind elemental attacks and 40% less damage from Water elemental attacks. (Please refer to this page for more information on ACS Elements).
  • Lion can perform all the basic movements in ACS.
    • Lion's High Jump and Double Jump reaches slightly above the screen's height.
    • Lion's Forward Step and Backward Leap have the same height as his high jump but has average range and poor speed.
    • Lion's air dashes costs 1 CC to execute.
  • Lion has two melee ground attacks (A and B) and a basic riser attack (C then tap ↑→). He also has two melee aerial attacks (A/B and C).
    • Lion's C aerial attack disables enemies upon hit.
  • Most of Lion's aerial artes can be canceled by doing a forward air dash just before the arte has been fully executed. This move is known as Dash Cancel (DC).
    • Dash Cancel costs Lion 1 CC to execute.
  • Lion can use his Overlimit in mid-air during a combo.
  • Lion uses a Chain Capacity (CC) Gauge, enabling him to create a stunning amount of combinations out of his many different artes as long as he has enough CC to use each arte.
    • Lion's starting CC is set at 10. His CC Gauge replenishes back to 10 once a combo ends and he lands back down on the ground.
    • For every hit that Lion connects to an enemy, there is a small chance his CC Gauge will temporarily increase by 1 or 2.
      • This temporary increase can only reach a maximum of 15 points (Lion's CC Gauge Limit) and expires if not used for a short period of time or after a combo ends.
    • During Overlimit Lv1, Lion's starting CC is set at 14.
    • During Overlimit Lv2, Lion's CC is frozen at 14.
    • Normally, using any of Lion's Blast Calibers will automatically end the chain.
  • Lion's chain order consists of:
    • Melee > Any Arte Type > Any Arte Type > Any Arte Type > etc.
    • Some of Lion's artes cannot be chained consecutively twice in a row.
    • Air Pressure can be casted instantly if used within a combo.
    • Normally, If Lion's Blast Calibers are used, the combo ends.

Shortcuts[]

If the same shortcut is used twice in a row, it will rotate between the specific arte and Hienrenzan. Note that when Garyuusen (↑ F) is used twice it will not become Garyuumeppa (the same goes for Gessenkou). The only way to do this is to press ↓ B while in the air.
