Overhauling the Main Page, Site Theme, Character Pages, etc.Edit

Should we make improvements on the main page, the overall feel of the site, the playable chacater pages and the command lists? Please post your comments, suggestions and feedback below. Minarie 03:16, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

Other than we need some kind of trailer you suggested before, I think it's fine the way it is. Too many unnecessary extras will make the wiki hard to manage. Less extras = less loading time.

Oh and I think we should remove the special announcement or shrink it down because it's way too big. Usually I just trust Gammer and LGameTales to do something about the main page, though. Fateoffate 06:09, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

I've been working on Command Lists with images, which would include a picture of the character performing the arte next to the name. I don't know if this is necessary or not, though, I know it'd help give a better look to the Commands (considering everyone likes pictures).
I also don't know if the images would look better before or after the name, which I separated in Stan's Melee and Elemental Melee Artes.
Feedback or recommendation would be cool, and a decision to the above statement. ^

I think we should add pictures to the command list but only after all the character pages are finished. It looks great and IMO, I prefer the images first before the arte names. Could you teach me how to make a black screen background so I can help you with the Command lists? For your consideration.
Minarie 16:13, June 29, 2011 (UTC)
I agree, this is more of an add-on than a priority. So far, I have all of Stahn and Kratos' moves (included Hi-Ougis) in BG-less picture-form. And it doesn't take that long to get more. I have a custom stage that is almost black, but not completely black, so you technically still have to manually remove the BG (but this take a mere 5 seconds on Paint).
Do you have an email I can send it to you at?
LGT (talk) 10:12, June 29, 2011 (PST)
I need this for my newest combo video, I've broken my old Kratos record. You can upload it to sendspace or something and post it here, or, better yet, give it to Gammer10 and have him upload it to the DLC folder.

I jizzed in my pants @ the Command Lists with images idea. Fukkin do it. And go ahead with the front page. Like I said, treat this as if you four have just as much discretion as me. I'm just an inactive admin now.

In other news, it looks like my real life affairs will have me leaving my parents house and going off on my own in about a year if I manage to keep my job. I'm 21 so it's about f'n time I got a decent job, lol. CenturyBlade 03:54, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Over the next few days and weeks, I'll be performing some site updates:

  • Completely redone front page
    • Front Page News Slider
    • CSS/HTML style front page with calegories etc.
    • Favourite Character Poll, Hardest Boss Poll
  • 3DACS Pages will be set up
  • 3DACS progress blog
  • Character AI Data

Let me know if you need some help. Although I don't want to ruin what you have planned.

I wanted to do something like that before but I needed help. Now since you want to do it, let me help you (if you want) ^_^! We can use the new wikia format too.

What is our Domain and Range? Edit

Sorry for the terrible math pun... So, what topics are we to expand to? Will there be a secion on each page about how to beat each character in Story Mode? Or other stuff? (Actually, I can't think of much more then this...)

More importantly, what will we do about "ACS2" will we cover it in this wikia? Start a new wikia? How will they be "seperated" from "ACS1"? Will we cover it in the News Section?

Also, I think Anibache needs a page all his/her own. gammer10 20:06, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm... Here are some ideas I have, I'll share them here as well.
  • Advanced Battle Strategy and Usage Tips Section for all characters. (Instead of an AI behavior).
  • Beating Mania and Unknown Guide. (We can put the AI patterns of selected characters here)
  • Artes Exhibitions for all characters.
  • Seperate Navigation page for the Secret Characters.
  • Expand more on online play. (I don't know much about this though.)
  • The ACS 1 official video trailer. (this will replace the temporary slide show on the main page).
  • Better navigation on the main page.
I think we should put ACS 2 here as well. This is the ACS wiki and not the ACS 1 wiki but this is just my opinion. I'll follow what our Ninja Boss (a.k.a. CenturyBlade) wants since this is site after all.
What should the Anibache page talk about? Minarie 12:46, July 17, 2011 (UTC)
Well, Anibache's page would explain he created ACS, what we know about him, and that he created some of the sprites. It'll end up being a stub, but he did make ACS, so he deserves a page.
I see its kinda like an appreciation/about me page. I think we should put a page up for him/her. Minarie 01:38, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Allright, lets see what I can knock out here. Also I'm considering making a conceded effort to get back into ACS, at least to see what's up. Mostly because I youtube friended an up-and-coming Kratosfag who supposedly beat my max combo for him, and I also hear that Ricardo and Iria are in the game now, which made my brain melt a bit.

@ACS2: What the f- am I reading? Can I get some more clarification plox? :O @Anibache's page: All of my funds. You'd have to get him/her/it to take time out of the busy schedule to post on it, though XD @Advanced Battle Strategy & Tips: Even more of my funds. That's practically what I made ACS Wikia for anyway. Don't delete the AI shit though, just make it separate. @Mania/Unknown Guide: Well, keep in mind, AI acts a bit differently in certain modes. @Artes Exhibitions: OH GOD FUCKING DO IT FAGGOT. But in all seriousness, if you guys have the time (and decent recording ability) to post up such things, then by all means do so. But please don't bother if the videos are at like 15 FPS or some shit, I've seen some pretty terrible recordings up on the Youtube. @Secret Characters category: I don't know what you mean by this? Cameos or Special Boss Encounters like Yggdrasil and 2x Barby? @Expand more on online play: All I can say is -- Have fun with that, LOL. @ACS Video Trailer: ...wat. I guess being gone for 8 months really put me out of the loop; ACS has a trailer now? lol @Main page edits: Have a blast, anything that makes it look better will stay. Anybody who makes shitty edits though will probably be ban'd. ;) lol jk

As far as this mythical ACS 2 shit I have yet to hear about, I'll deal with it when somebody clues me in more as to what's going on. CenturyBlade 03:49, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Character Gallery Edit

I'm thinking of adding an image gallery to each character with their cut-ins, but I don't think it adds much to the wikia. It may also violate Anibache's sprite stealing policy. What do you guys think? gammer10 01:18, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Is there anyway we can ask permission from Anibache first? I think it's a good idea. We should upload as many good screenshots as possible to attract more players. Should we make a seperate category page for it? Minarie 01:32, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

AFAIK, most of the cut ins are just ripped from other games anyway, so they're not under Anibache's domain or anything...
CenturyBlade 04:04, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

I've uploaded a sample. Take a look!

Change of some terms Edit

Allright so, revelation time here.

Back when I originally started ACS Wikia, I wasn't exactly an avid fighting game player. I'd only ever played Melty Blood Act Cadenza and Touhou 12.3 Hisotensoku, and only with a couple of friends at that. As such, when I came across the conundrum of "What the fuck do I call this period of time between when the attack "starts" and when the opponent actually starts being "hit"?" and in my limited wisdom I came up with the term "TTS (Time to Start)".

By now, older and wiser me knows that such phenomena have more "canonized" terms within fighting game communities: Startup/Cast Time (in the case of spells) and Cooldown.

That being said, I know it's probably going to be thousands of times beyond a pain in the ass to do so, but how plausible do you guys think universally changing the homebrew terms "TTS" and "TTL" to "Startup" and "Cooldown" is?

CenturyBlade 04:04, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Ninja Boss =)! Check out the TTS/TTL page we made for more info. I hope its ok though I generalized the concept and match it with ACS 1.. Minarie 04:09, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
It's very nice, good job. I'd still like to universally change them to what they should actually be, if possible.
CenturyBlade 13:15, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
As long as its more useful to the players I've got no problems with it =).
Minarie 13:25, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
I'm unsure if Cooldown is the appropriate term. I thought cooldown refers to the time before the same attack can be used. It would seem appropriate for Cameos, seeing as though they need a few seconds. On another note, a combo is only possible if the TTL of the first attack and the TTS of the second attack is shorter then the hitstun of the enemy.
gammer10 16:56, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
If you really want to change it, maybe we should just call it Speed (TTS) and Stagger Time (TTL)? I think the concept is much clearer if those terms are used. What do you guys think? Minarie 18:06, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
Well it's not a super high priority thing, it was just an idea that I had so it's not like I want to generate unnecessary work lol. Also Cooldown refers to the time before any attack can be used. The opposing terms (for the opponent) are blockstun and hitstun, but that will come in during Advanced Strategies for generating bullshit/invalid combos.

Demise of AWC Edit

I've just contacted Wikia Staff, and all actions on the Wikia must be preformed by logged-in members, and will be instated indefinitely. Goodbye AWC, we surely won't miss you.
